The next Outreach Ministries collection at the Masses on November 10th & 11th is for The Ed Colina Foundation.
Ed Colina is currently in Kenya, in sub-Saharan Africa, until Christmas. Over the years, Our Lady of the Visitation parish and school has become well-acquainted with Ed's work and the African jewelry items he often sells after the Masses to support his work. Ed's foundation provides education for 230 primary school students in the Kibera slum, outside Nairobi. The foundation has also constructed classrooms in the remote Kakuma hometown of Benson Lotiang'a who is now in the seminary here in Cincinnati and has visited OLV many times. Most recently, Ed's organization has constructed a center for 35 developmentally disabled children and their families, who travel weekly to the center for medical care, therapies and relief food. Please check www.edcolinafoundation.org for more. Since we are unable to host the foundation's annual jewelry sale due to construction here at Visi, we will devote our second collection for "Outreach Ministries" on November10th and 11th to supporting The Ed Colina Foundation. Please be generous in your support of Ed's work in Africa!
