visits her cousin Elizabeth
after Elizabeth was told by the Angel Gabriel she would give birth to John the Baptist.

Elizabeth was the first to perceive the significance of Mary's pregnancy, and said to Mary,

"Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb."
