Readings for St. Joseph

John 6:42                 They said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does He now say, ‘I have come down from heaven’

Matthew 1:18-25    Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:

Luke 2:33                 And His father and His mother marveled at what was said about Him.”

Matthew 1:20          “But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 1:19            “And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.”

Matthew 2: 13-23    “Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and His mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy Him.” And he rose and took the child and His mother by night and departed to Egypt and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called my son.” Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet”

Luke 2: 6-7                While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn

Matthew 3:16-17 “           As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.”

Luke 12:32                       “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom

Psalm 100:3                     “Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”

Hebrews 4:16                  “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

James 1:17                         “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father”

Genesis 1:1                        In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth

Matthew 25:34                Then the King will say to those on his right, “Come, you who are blessed by My Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.”
